The Inverted Mohawk

As I`ve mentioned before in my critically acclaimed post The Evolution of the Do, my hairstyle has been evolving. From a full head of hair to a head in 10 years. Incredible really. It hasn`t affected me as a person too much. You know the saying, What you lose on the swings, you make up on the roundabouts. That applies to me. Yes, I have lost hair, Yes I am able to name my remaining hair after all the members of a certain boyband and have a name left (it`s ok, it`s not like Robbie Williams belongs there anyway). But, I have also become more suave and intellectually superior to the puny weakling who used to wear a Ricky Schoeder middle path.

So that seamlessly brings me to my new hairstyle, The Inverted Mohawk. Not the mohawk made popular by one of the best method actors of his generation, Mr T. (I dare Robert De Niro to play BA Baracus with the same intensity or the same subtle nuances. It ain`t gonna happen Bob, you sucker fool).

No, my mohawk is inverted or well on it`s way to being inverted. I acknowledge that I`m not the first person to make this specific do fashionable. This was done by the Groot Krokodil a long time ago.

This photo (below) was taken last week when my gorgeous wife got back from Joburg. I admit, there is a slight case of hat hair but nothing can hide the fact that I`m on a downward spiral with regards the hair.

At least I got myself a hot wife before it was too late.

haha...I never noticed the inverted hawk in this picture before!

let me tell ya. your right, its good you scored Hayley before it was too late...because aparently my husband had an inverted hawk at one point and also long hair with a paper white stripe down the middle as well. Let me just say this, if I had known him at that point in his life, I dont think we would be married now!

PS - Im sure Hayley appreciates the fact that you are more "intellectually superior now"!

I always tell my brother that he better get married before he starts going bald. Haha. He's already getting a bit thin up top, so he's running out of time. :)

hehe... I so relate... I watch my hair fleeing from my head in terror!

Fun post... and I agree on Mr T - such layered subtext and sensitivity to the craft. Sometimes I cry...

As the Chinese proverb goes, "Experience is a comb which nature gives to men when they are bald".

2-I saw Mr. T on an info-mercial for a jet air cooker.

3-BTW, I love the human calendar. Do you create that everyday?

As a proud follower (for the past um... six years at least) of the inverted mowhawk club, I gotta say I loved this post!!

My good friend and stylist didn't break it to me easy either when she told me my feeble excuse for a hairstye had to go!

Admittedly, being able to see through a haistyle is a sure indication it's time to take it off. But, I'm glad I joined that club... and fervently reticent about letting the growth on the sides reach more than about 5mm before the buzzer makes a welcome return.

Funny! My hubs is almost 30 and completely gray. He has a full head of hair, just kinda looks like Santa...which he hates. The funny thing, is his best friend, my second husband as I call him, is like you in that he is quickly loosing the hair. You put the both of them together and I'm thinking I need to start saving for the old folks home. :) What is it they say, it makes you look distinguished? Either way...it looks good on you...wear it with pride.

Too Funny.. I have never heard it called the "inverted hawk".. I will have to keep that term in mind when talking with my uncle.. He started loosing his hair when he was 17 or 18 and he is 46 now.. He still has a little but now what he has left is turning gray!

PS.. I posted the recipe!! You guys should try it..

Heather, I`m really glad you met your hubby at the right time. Would have been a shame if you met him when he had the "inverted mohawk"! :D

Jenn, he`d better hurry up! Time`s ticking!

Rambler, I feel your pain brother! Ps. Mr T, has made me cry too.... :D

Tamara, that is classic!!! and true....

Nessie, thanks man, I`ll go check it out!

Kevin, welcome to the club buddy....

Cindy, did Mr T threaten people to buy the cooker or "I`ll beat you up you sucker fool"? :)
The Human calender is awesome! I wish I could take credit but no, you can find it on the "gadgets" page.

Frank, I`m with you! As soon as you can see through a hairstyle, it`s over!

Tiffany, I think I`m a combination of your husband and friend. I have a lot of grey to compliment the Inverted Mohawk...

Kandi, I can`t wait to get the recipe!!! My mouth is watering already!

Sweetie, yay........ :D
